Hello All, quite a bit has been happening behind the scenes as we get closer to the nationals at McCrae. Here's a snapshot.
Event Sponsors
 |
We are pleased to welcome aboard Ronstan International as our naming rights sponsor for the event. They have a great range of new Orbit blocks that have been released onto the market over the past 12 months and we anticipate that with our prize giving structure for the event, we hope every competitor wil take away some Ronstan hardware goodies, particularly Orbit blocks! For more info, visit their website at www.ronstan.com |
| We'd also like to thank Zhik for becoming an event sponsor and everybody is sure to be a recipient of Zhik's generosity during the event as well. See www.zhik.com |

Notice of Race
The NOR is now available online. To download, go to the Event / Notice of Race link in the main menu.
Overseas Entrants
Christopher Opielok and his crew will be bringing their brand new Holger Jess boat GER8988 over from Germany to compete in the Nationals. They are over for a months sailing and will be looking for other 505 events to do as well as hitching a ride on Sydney-Hobart boat.
This a picture of their new boat just after having been launched.
Presentation Night
We have locked in the venue at Arthur's Hotel on top of Arthurs Seat. About a 10 minute drive from the yacht club, it has panoramic views over the bay up towards Melbourne. From their website, "Situated 385 meter above sea level, Arthurs Hotel offers the best views on the Mornington Peninsula. Arthurs Seat has a long historic background, opening to the public for the first time in the early 30's when the first tourist monument was erected, soon after that Arthurs Seat hotel was built, and since then it is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Mornington Peninsula."
Here's a snapshot of the view from Arthurs. To see the view in daylight, click here

Accommodation
Short term holiday houses close to the club are all being snapped up. Don't delay booking your accommodation now otherwise you will be further away from the club than you'd like. See the accommodation page on this website for options.
Charter Boats
There are now two boats publicly available for charter. See the forum for details. |

For interstate and overseas visitors thinking of coming to McCrae next January, we've added some more tourist related information on the Mornington Peninsula on the site under Location / The Mornington Peninsula. To view, click here |
